Men's Bench watches: 'UK timepiece industry enjoying renaissance'
People who are interested in timepieces may be interested to hear that the British watchmaking industry is benefitting from a "renaissance", led by the likes of men's Bench watches.
This is according to Laura McCreddie, an expert horologist, who told Retail Jeweller that the nation has benefited from the slowdown of Swiss timepiece popularity during the quartz watch crisis of the 1980s.
"The British watch industry is having a slow, but steady revival," she explained, before adding, "[They] are making a name for themselves abroad."
However, Ms McCreddie added that watchmakers from the UK must not make the same mistakes as the first renaissance period for the industry, when strategies to combat foreign competition were ignored and the country slipped behind in the stakes.
Bench watches offer plenty of innovative and stylish products to make sure that this should not be the case though, including the Bench BC0013BR Gents LCD Brown Strap.
As well as a rich-looking stainless steel case, the timepiece displays time through a multi-functional digital dial, which adds a modern touch to the design.
